This is a skin condition where the affected area develops rashes which becomes red, itchy and dry. The area may be a part of the body or, in rare cases, all over the body. They are of different varieties like atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, irritant dermatitis etc. Some kind of allergic reaction tolike food items, chemicals, pollen or even change in weathercould some reasons for this condition.

Vicharchika is a type of skin disease explained in Ayurveda, which can be co-related to eczema. Repeated courses of therapies and internal medications along with modifications in diet and lifestyle will give good prognosis in the effective management of this condition.

In Nagarjuna, we treat this condition through a body cleansing program known as Panchakarma. Before cleaning the body with purgation (virechana), we prepare the body by administering medicated ghee (sneha pana), in a gradually increasing dose, till we achieve certain indications in the body. After the purgation, regular oil application and pouring of continuous stream of medicated oil on fore head (siro dhara) is done for a period of 7 days alongwith the prescribed internal medicines.
